Does the Well R7 airsoft rifle really have a metal gearbox.?
I just bought one and it doesn't seem to have metal internals, it sounds so lame.
Sorry mate, but nothing made by Well (unless it's a high-end Galaxy) has anything even remotely related to Metal.

How is the full metal Scar-L made by Echo1?
I just purchased a Full Metal Scar-L from my local hardcore airsoft store. I was wondering how it is. How rattely is it? Is it sturdy? The ammo count, the rate of fire, and the FPS.
Thanks for all info. I like the look of the gun, and I bought the tan one if that makes a difference.
Also how much is the gun worth based on its performance?
From the many sources I've seen in the internet, the Echo1's SCAR-L is a slightly improved version of the D-Boys SCAR-L, which is also full metal.
Though I never used the Echo1 version, I have tried my brother's friend's D-Boys SCAR, which is very fun to use. For the ~$140 (retailed around $160) he paid for it, everything was and still is great. The only thing he complained about was a minor, a bit sluggish ROF and a weaker FPS compared to his upgraded Tokyo Marui G36C. He didn't do anything about that though, because he the money he saved up supposedly for upgrades was spent on a Mad Bull grenade launcher.
OK, going back on topic: no rattling from the rifle aside from the M4/M16 hi-caps he carried (which were like JG ones; about 300-400 BB's) when its capacity has been used up halfway; good but a little slow ROF, and a pretty decent 360 FPS without any upgrades. The Echo1 version is the same but with metal bushings, slightly better spring, and maybe different type of materials that makes the metal rails (must be more durable).
How much does the D-Boys version cost for its performance? Around $160, the retail price. The Echo1? With the upgrades that could do a lot, maybe $190.

What exactly is an alloy? Since alloys are part of our daily lives, it’s important that we have some idea of exactly what an alloy is. An alloy is simply a metal that is made up of more than one element. The reason for using an alloy rather than a pure metal is that there are certain properties that might be desired in a finished product that the pure metal just doesn’t have. By combining two metals, one achieves a substance that has the best of all the elements.
Whether you are doing some backyard casting or looking for a investment casting manufacturer to produce your product, you need to understand the type of metal or alloy that product needs. The variety of alloys is in the hundreds, which each alloy resulting in specific properties; however, we going to look at two basic alloys used for investment casting: aluminum and nickel-based substances.
Aluminum Alloys
Aluminum is among the most lightweight of the various metals however it lacks the strength and corrosion resistance necessary for many applications. Therefore, metallurgists have learned to combine aluminum with various elements, such as copper, magnesium or zinc. This results in a metal that has great strength and resist corrosion.
These qualities are what make aluminum alloys so popular with a number of industries and for an incredible variety of applications. These aluminum alloys are widely used in the aerospace and electronics industries, as well as for military purposes. In addition, the automotive industry uses aluminum alloys in vehicle manufacturing of many motor and body parts.
Nickel-Based Alloys
Nickel is another element that is often used to combine with another metal for an alloy. A nickel alloy is especially desired in products that will be exposed to extremely high temperatures, a corrosive environment or structural stressors. For the most part, extreme conditions are more destructive to stainless steel than it is to items that are made from a nickel-based alloy. Not only that, but the nickel-based alloy casting will survive prolonged exposure to water better than pure metals or some other alloys.
Some of the other metals and elements that are frequently employed in creating a nickel alloy are cobalt, silicon, copper and iron. A couple of environments that use a lot of nickel alloy castings are the highly corrosive pulp and paper mills.
To Alloy or Not Alloy
Environment and function are the two basic considerations when deciding on what type of alloy to use for your investment castings. Aluminum and nickel-based alloys are just two of the basic alloys available for investment casting purposes. By knowing the possible environment that your casting might be exposed to, you will then be able to determine the best alloy combination.

Airsoft guns are the ultimate toys for adults. They are essentially toy guns that shoot “BBs” and the guns are usually made of plastic, but there are more expensive metal varieties. This article covers the raw essentials for anyone interested in airsoft.
BBs are small round plastic balls. They are all the same size but come in different weights ans qualities. The two most common varieties are the 0.20g and the 0.12g. The standard is 0.20g, and the 0.12g is used in cheaper airsoft guns, or indoors where there is no wind to influence the path of the BB.
Airsoft is similar to paintballing but has some advantages and disadvantages. Airsoft Snipers must use at least 0.20 if their BBs are to stand a chance of travelling steadily at long range. It can also come in handy to use a more powerful airsoft gun and heavier BBs when playing in a forest, where leaves may block the path of the BB. Remember that for heavier BBs to help, the airsoft gun needs to be more powerful or the BBs will just travel at a slower speed and will drop to the grownd at a lower range.
Airsoft guns are illegal in many parts of the world. It is quite common for them to be allowed on private land as long as you have the permission of the land owner to use them there. In many parts of the world it is the law that airsoft guns have an orange cap on the end to show clearly that they are not functioning firearms.
When playing airsoft by far the most important safety aspect is to wear eye protection. A BB to the eye, shot from an airsoft gun can cause blindness and even death. I also suggest the use some sort of neck warmer to protect your teeth, because a BB that hits directly on a tooth can knock out that tooth.
Those are the basics of airsoft guns. There is a massive price range to choose from. Decent cheap airsoft guns are only more recently becoming available, but there are still a lot of bad deals out there. Enjoy your fantastic toys and play safe!
